Why You Should Use The Kynetx Developer Exchange

Hello once again!

As you may or may not know, I work for Kynetx, and it is amazing! One of our main goals, other than changing the world, is helping the developers that use our platform. We want you, the developer, to never bang your head against the wall because of something that is not working, something that you do not quite grasp, or anything that is blocking you from creating a world-changing, mind-blowing app.

We at Kynetx provide 3 main tools to help you succeed: the developer documentation, the developer portal, and lastly, but most importantly, the Kynetx Developer Exchange. The documentation and portal are very useful resources, but neither of them can respond to your questions. Enter the Kynetx Developer Exchange.

The Kynetx Developer Exchange, or devex for short, is a great place to post any Kynetx-related question you may have. Here you’ll find amazing people, both Kynetx employees and non-employees chomping at the bit to help you.

Your question does not necessarily have to be about exact code or exact problems you are having. You can ask how to do things, you can ask about Kynetx pricing, you can request examples, you can ask any Kynetx-related question your heart desires. Oh yeah, you can also request enhancements to the Kynetx Rule Language! How cool is that? Do you know what’s even cooler? We at Kynetx actually take note of your requests and do our best to implement them! Thanks to the request of one person on devex, and all the hard work put in by Kynetx employees, we now have side tabs built into the Kynetx Rule Language! That’s just one example of how devex can help you, as Kynetx Rule Language Developers.

Another reason the Kynetx Developer Exchange is awesome, is because it’s fast. Generally, from the time you ask a question, to the time you have an answer, is under one hour. Yes, that’s right, under one hour. Why is this? Because there are so many KRL-savvy people that watch devex and are just waiting to help you, me included! We love helping you get your apps working and answering all of your questions. There is no question too “newbie.” There are many more reasons why the Kynetx Developer Exchange is the number one resource out there for Kynetx developers, in fact, I could write a book on why devex is awesome and what it offers Kynetx Developers, but I do not wish to write a book! I just wish to convey the fact that the Kynetx Developer Exchange is by far the number one resource for Kynetx developers to get help and solve their problems.

So I just have one question, why don’t you visit devex and start asking questions? Or answer some questions! Go! Now! Seriously!!

Who knows? You might just end up creating the next world-changing app.

Kynetx Impact

What’s up?

Are you a developer, or at all interested in the internet and its future? If you answered yes to one or more of these questions, then this post is for you, if not, then please still read, and by the end, who knows? You may end up wanting to go if only for the food.

What may you want to go to? Kynetx Impact Conference. This is a conference that is held twice a year, once in the spring, and once in the fall, to showcase what Kynetx is doing and how we are revolutionizing the web and the way you experience it.

Before going on, I must tell you a little about what Kynetx is and what it allows you to do, if you already know this, congratulations! You can skip the next two paragraphs. Kynetx is, in a nutshell, a web development platform that allows you to create apps that stretch across the web and respond to a user’s context. This is a huge improvement from the traditional web-site based, content-based web apps that exist in large quantities today. Ok, that’s cool in itself, but guess what the real kicker is? Writing Kynetx apps is extremely easy!  With just a couple of lines of code, you can change the entire look and feel of a webpage, percolate and annotate search engine results, and even inject content directly into a webpage!

If you want to start playing around and/or start making awesome Kynetx apps, start by signing up for a developer account, this will give you access to all that you need to start creating apps that will change the world. Currently, developing Kynetx apps is done through the Kynetx Appbuilder, a web-based IDE that allows you to create, edit, test, and deploy your apps on various endpoints.

Now that you know a little bit more about Kynetx, let me explain why you should attend Impact. You should attend because, if you are a developer, you will be taught the ways of the Kynetx Rule Language, and how to fully utilize Kynetx Network Services. You should atttend Impact because Kynetx is unveiling many new things that will absolutely blow your mind, many of which will be additions/improvements to the Kynetx Rule Language, that you (the developer), can then leverage in your apps.

Not a developer? Here’s why you should attend Kynetx Impact Conference:

Kynetx is changing the web.

Yes, it’s true, we here at Kynetx are indeed changing the entire web, whether or not you know it yet, and you want to know about it so that you, as an individual or company, can be prepared to leverage the power of Kynetx for yourselves.

Now that you’ve read this, you are ready to signup right? Well, you can do that here. But not so fast! Impact is great in itself, but it would be even better if you could get a discount, right? You can! From me! How awesome is that?

Wait for it….wait for it……the discount code is:

Have a great day!

Life In The Past Months

So, I’ve had lots and lots happen in my life since my last post. Probably the biggest deal that happened was landing an internship at THE place that is revolutionizing the web: Kynetx. It is an amazing place, and a huge bonus is that I work there with someone that I also go to school with.

As you may or may not know, I already knew a fair amount of programming stuff, having now taken two classes, one in C# and one in C++. But the amount of learning that I have been doing at Kynetx has surprised even me, and I really enjoy it. I now know a whole new language, KRL, Kynetx Rule Language, and a fair amount about Javascript. Now, my fellow UCASian owns face at Javascript, and many other web programming languages, but with his amazing teaching skills, I’m quickly becoming proficient myself.

I have also gotten to know many new people, including a brand-new employee of Kynetx. I started to talk to him via Twitter, and soon met him for the first time face-to-face. He’s a great guy and I know he’ll go far in life, as will Jessie.

Many more things have happened in my life since my last post, but suffice it to say that most of them have been good, albeit hard. Anyway, I’ve been really busy these past months and the first thing that falls through the cracks is my blog, and I apologize. I’ll make a concerted effort to post more regularly.

You may have noticed that I now have a wicked sick blog theme, this is thanks to Craig Burton, (@craigburton on twitter). He is the cofounder of Novell and has many amazing skills, not the least of which is his artistic ability.

That’s all for now, thanks for reading, and never forget to enjoy life!

Linked List Class Diagram

Recently I designed a simple implementation of a linked list that uses strings (not templates, not yet anyway), I’ve yet to begin coding it, but I’d appreciate it if in the comments below, you would tell me what you think of my design. Also, I apologize for not updating my website more often. It’s been a crazy couple of weeks, but when I find some time I will put my resume and other things on here. I will also try to be more regular with my posts.

The Decline and Fall of Internet Explorer 6 IE6: Implications for Webmasters

There has been a flurry of news lately about Internet Explorer 6 “IE6″. Microsoft has been subtly or perhaps not so subtly trying to persuade end-users to upgrade to Internet Explorer 8 “IE8″ through its various security bulletins. That is, every time a security hole is discovered in Internet Explorer ["IE"], they recommend that users upgrade to IE8 whether or not that actually solves the problem. At the same time, Google has been gradually dropping support for IE6 in its services, from YouTube and Orkut to Google Docs and Google Sites the latter two in March 2010. Webmasters the world over anticipate or, perhaps more accurately, hope that Googles move will accelerate IE6s demise. This article discusses the implications of IE6s fall for those who maintain websites.

Administrating

Administrating a website & forum is both fun and exhausting. I was recently made an admin over a very large website, and I was stunned and humbled. To be a good administrator you must first realize what a huge responsibility it is to administer. You must know when to exercise  your authority and when to play it cool. You must know how to be both professional and have a sense of humor.

I’m too tired to write any longer, call me crazy, but I’m heading to bed.

Installed Wordpress

I finally got around to installing wordpress today, and it looks really nice! I’ll be really busy this week, but I hope to have some time to customize my site and add some more information about myself.

Enjoy!
